Pack On Time
Multi-format Packaging System
Packaging on demand, tailor-made packages – easy and fast: to achieve efficient shipment of the most diverse items, the logistics chain must be optimised and automated.
This requires intelligent packaging concepts and systems that provide the packaging in the required time and size.
Our goal is: Smart Pack – Made On Time.
Optimised Logistics
The basic concept of PackOnTime® allows optimising the processes of parcel delivery and dispatch and increasing productivity; i while ensuring the environmentally friendly use of resources.
Smart Pack
Package created on demand; created when requested. The cardboard box is produced in the dimensions individually required for each article. The cardboard sheet is formed into a robust and stable box that provides optimal protection for even the most delicate and valuable articles.
Article positioning
The articles are placed on a belt and fed to the system. The dimensions of the positioned articles are measured to determine the required box size. Depending on requirements, the system can be equipped with several insertion stations.
The advantages of packaging on demand
The smart multi-article pack.
The patented corrugated box shape allows safe transport of contents, space-saving storage and easy handling during sorting and stacking. The online market generates significant demand for paper and corrugated packaging. Corrugated cardboard is very popular because, once folded, it requires little space and, despite its relatively low weight, offers good stability and protection for the packaged goods. It is also a friend of the environment because it is mainly made from recycled paper.
Until now, it has always been necessary to produce large quantities of identical boxes in order to keep the box cost low because each format change generates setup costs for box production and time-consuming adjustments on the packaging machines.
The consequence is the use of boxes that are all the same, unsuitable for the format of the article with a high percentage of air (vacuum) that must be transported, stored and transhipped. Very often this empty space is then filled with auxiliary materials such as polystyrene shavings or wood wool, causing the need for further handling by the final recipient and an increase in disposal,
